- ROBLOX Helper - Riptide

Okay, so in the new contest game, SFOTH: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, there is a gear called Riptide, many can't figure out how to get it, so I'm here to help!

To get Riptide, you need to get each weapon in the game:

Trident
Ice Breaker
Ice Axe
Beach Battle Sword

Once you have each of them in your inventory, you will get Riptide!

Very challenging but worth it. Riptide works as a regular LinkedSword.

Once you get the Items a GUI will appear on your screen saying you got the sword.

To get one of the other badges, simply get 10 KOs with only that one weapon.

Hope this helped, and happy weapon hunting!

Intern Designed Gear!

We've got four ROBLOX interns working for us currently--we wanted to give them the chance to get creative and publish their own unique gear creations! There's a little bit of everything this week, from a gun that launches walruses to a hoverboard--read on to see what's new.

Newtrat's Tuskinator: This bizarre weapon shoots bullets that turn into body-hugging walruses on impact. These walruses mean you no harm--to the contrary! Each walrus attached will refill five hit points of damage, and will make bizarre walrus noises, in addition to spouting off several bad jokes. Did we mention in the intro that we're debuting some weird gear this week? Yeah.

Seranok's Golden Chalice of Fame: Seranok saw this as an opportunity to show ROBLOXians what it's like to be famous. Equip this and click once, and watch as a herd of NPCs appear and begin following you around asking for donations and other favors.

Merely's Sparkle Time Hoverboard: This hoverboard allows you to float two studs above the ground. Use the normal walking keys to maneuver, and hit the spacebar for a speed boost that will rocket you forward as sparkles shoot out of the board. There's also a boost GUI meter, so you can monitor your boost levels.

stickmasterluke's Stick of Power: Pretty capable for just a stick! The Stick of Power actually has six different special attacks, and each of these specials can be toggled using the Q and E keys. Each special does something different, and we don't want to spoil the surprise, so we'll tell you about just one: it puts you in an invisible elevator, which you can ride as high you like to get to hard-to-reach places.

July 25 2013 Site Updates

Earlier there were a few site updates, here is a list of the ones I know of.

  • New Cursor in-game.
  • Now if you're invited to a party while in-game, you will leave the game automatically.
Personally, I find the party update a TERRIBLE idea.

If I did miss anything, be sure to leave a comment!

- ROBLOX Helper - Golden Fleece

Okay, so in the new contest game, SFOTH: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, there is a gear called the Golden Fleece, many can't figure out how to get it, so I'm here to help!

To get the Fleece, you need to get each weapon in the game:

Trident
Ice Breaker
Ice Axe
Beach Battle Sword

Once you have each of them in your inventory, you will get the Fleece In-Game, but it's not done there!

To get the fleece in your inventory, you need to get 10 KOs while flying with the Fleece, if you die, you will lose the Fleece, you will need to regain all weapons again, and all 10 KOs.

Very challenging but worth it, as the Fleece works like the R-Orb or Artemis Bow, allowing the player to fly around, but you can't hold a weapon when using it sadly.

Once you get the 10 KOs a GUI will appear on your screen saying you got the Demigod Badge, meaning you now have the fleece.

To get one of the other badges, simply get 10 KOs with only that one weapon.

Hope this helped, and happy weapon hunting!

LMaD - Let's Make a Deal

LMaD is the forum where players go to trade and sell items. But it can be a hard place to get used to, and to fit in, so I am going to try my best to tell you how you can fit in!

First, know the acronyms of each hat, which you can find here.

1. Know the people

Knowing the people you're trading with can help you get better items, not only for them trusting you more, but you know how they work. What do I mean by how they work? Well, different people trade differently, some base trades off the item's price, others on the RAP of the item.

RAP = Recent Average Price

RAP is how much an item is worth in a trade.

2. Over Price

Next you need to Over Price, or OP for short. When you OP you pay more for the item you're trading.

Here's an example

Your offer: 2,000 RAP

What you want: 1,600 RAP

OPing can be a good thing, but NEVER offer items of higher RAP, to understand that, check out this link.

3. Over Offer, and Under Offer

Now we get to the Over and Under offering. This is a great thing to do when trading for rare items.

When you Under Offer, you trade one item for many other items.

When you Over Offer, you trade many items for one item.

Both are a great way to trade, and I suggest using both methods.

TIPS:

LMaD is full of trolls, so keep an eye out.

LMaD users don't tend to be nice to newer people in that forum, so just ignore them.

LMaD is the most popular forum, so your post will get covered up quickly, so make sure the title attracts people.

I hope this helped, and if you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment!

Thanks for reading.

Zelios' Animations

After the blog post telling about Zelios, I decided to look into the animations he made, here they are, and they are AMAZING!

These animations are amazing, and I hope they do add animations like these to ROBLOX some day.

Hat Review: Off the Chain Style

Off the Chain Style

Mesh: The mesh is very nice, it's a regular top hat with a chain on it, so far I can't find any meshes that are just like this one, meaning for now, it's one of a kind. I do lie it though, and you know I'm into fedoras, but not top hats.. But this top hat, it quite a nice one. I can't say I don't like it, but I can't say it's my favorite.
Rating: 8/10

Texture: And now we get to the color, the Top hat is Navy blue, the band is Black, and the chain is Gold. And of course the texture is good, as long as it has blue, right..? Right..? RIGHT...? Right, anyways, the texture for this hat is great as well, when I first saw the hat, I was like, meh, but I do really like it.
Rating: 9/10

Pricing: The original price was 1,000 Robux. Now sold out with 450 sales, the current price is 1,269 Robux. This price is great, I was an original buyer, so I hoped it wouldn't fail. I do wish it would raise, the price keep dropping and raising though the highest t was at was 1,500, lowest is 1,100. But, hopefully it will stop at a high price.
Rating: 7/10

Overall: Overall, this is a great hat, one of a kind mesh, awesome texture, and it's not cheap either! If you have this hat, and if you are an original buyer, congratulations! I suggest you do get this hat, it is really great.
Overall Rating: 24/30

Zelios, Creating 3D art

Art is everywhere on ROBLOX–whether it’s the visual aesthetic of a virtually-built place, the design of your character’s clothing, or the look of a decal or thumbnail. Further still, we’ve come across a lot of off-site art directly inspired by ROBLOX, which brings us to Zelios. His fascination with art, like his fascination with ROBLOX, began at an early age. He began creating pieces of art based around the world of ROBLOX, and is now the premiere, go-to visual artist for game makers looking for stellar, high-resolution promotional art.

His clients include names you might recognize (we’re being sarcastic): Merely, TheGamer101, CloneTrooper1019, to rattle off a few. His intricate designs are built entirely from the ground up, and he works with his clients every step of the way to ensure that the finished pieces properly express their intent. I got the chance to talk with Zelios about a wide range of topics, including the life of a prolific visual artist on ROBLOX.

zelios4

“Everything around me is fuel for inspiration,” says Zelios, who then pauses. “I’ve been interested in drawing as far back as I can remember, and have also always been really into computers. I started in MS Paint and got pretty good at it, then I started to become interested in animations.”

This growing interest has manifested itself in several forms–ROBLOX wallpapers, custom user-themed 3D images, and even custom animations he’s shared via his online portfolio. Once he realized his skills were valuable to some of the top players on ROBLOX, he started charging ROBUX for his services (“if you’re good at something, never do it for free”, to quote one of my all-time favorite villains). Purchasing a custom-built digital render usually costs between 5,000 to 10,000 ROBUX. It sounds steep, but you get what you pay for. Zelios loops you in on the planning process, keeps you updated with each and every draft, and continually works with you to ensure that the finished piece looks exactly how you pictured it in your mind. According to Zelios, getting started is often the hardest part.

zelios5

“The thought process can be pretty rough sometimes. There’s been times where I’d be stuck for hours because I just couldn’t make up my mind about how a certain scene should be laid out,” he says. “I always try to think about how this person would want to be represented. I try to make it as perfect as possible.”

To design each piece, Zelios uses a combination of complex 2D and 3D software, including Adobe Photoshop and 3D Studio Max (which is a big step up from the software he started out with–a free program called MilkShape 3D). He also grabs parts and thumbnails from ROBLOX, and imports then into 3D Studio Max using 3DRipperDX, where he sets ROBLOX Studio to “wireframe” and “no texture” modes to investigate and capture usable meshes.

zelios6

“This specific process allows me to see how the meshes are made,” he added. “Once the 3D render is created, I import it into Photoshop to make small changes like adding or removing small parts. The average project takes anywhere from half a day, to two full days.”

As mentioned before, Zelios has attracted some very famous clients. Since Merely is currently a ROBLOX intern, we decided we’d chat with him briefly about the piece Zelios made at his request.

zelios2

“I asked Zelios to create a background of my ROBLOX avatar, and was not disappointed,” Merely says. “I found his artwork a few months ago, and was extremely impressed. His images bridge the gap between ROBLOX and reality. The precise shadows and reflections make his renderings come to life.”
swordslashZelios is also in the process of learning how to animate, and has posted some of his animation showcases to his DeviantArt page. These aren’t at the grand-master level of sophistication as his art and 3D renders, but he’s excited to be focusing on and learning about something new and challenging.
“The slash animation is an example of how a sword mesh could be used. It’s a really large sword, and very powerful. You have to charge up holding down the mouse button then release to perform a wide ranging slice attack,” he says.

zelios7

Having realized the potential for his artistic endeavors, Zelios fits into the grand scheme of ROBLOX in an interesting way. He tells me his goal is to eventually work here, making gear, hats and any other 3D assets necessary. This dream may be drawing close to reality–many members of our staff, as well as some of our most prolific builders, have taken a vested interest in what Zelios creates. We look forward to seeing where this goes. For now, and as always, here’s Zelios’ advice on being a visual artist on ROBLOX:

Get as inspired as you can. Inspiration fuels your imagination, and your imagination is a tool you use to shoot your creativity at your target audience. Make new and different things–things that only you can create. That’s something you learn through experience. If you have a client, put yourself in their shoes. Imagine what they’re looking forward to seeing, then make it.

[NOTICE]

Hello everyone, I am very sorry for not posting in about a month, I have been very busy, and as I am running this blog on my own, there have been no posts, I am going to try to post every day once more, there may not be posts for 3 days, and if so, I am sorry.
